Day 9Spirit of Temples

    The temple is built in the middle of a water tank, with a two-storied pyramidal roof and intricate sculptures on its walls and pillars. The temple's roof was carved from a single piece of rock.

    The Shankaracharya Temple, located in the Srinagar district, sits atop the Takht-e-Suleiman (Throne of Solomon) hill at an elevation of 1,100 feet above the city's surface. This ancient temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is believed to be the oldest place of worship in the Kashmir Valley.

Day 11A Fusion of Mysticism & Sufism

  • Leave towards Anantnag and visit Lalleshwari Grave at Bijbehara.

    Lalleshwari was a devotee of Lord Shiva and wrote many poems in Kashmiri, called "Vakhs" and used to be a contemporary of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamdani (Iranian Sufi Scholar). Lalleshwari influenced the emergence of the Rishi order of Sufi Saints and the development of Kashmiriyat, a culture that blended Hindu and Sufi traditions.

    Habba Khatoon, the "Nightingale of Kashmir," was a 16th-century poetess known for her soulful verses of love and longing. One spring in Badamwari, as she sang among blooming almond trees, her voice captivated King Yousuf Shah Chak, and their love story began. However, their happiness was short-lived, as the Mughal Emperor Akbar imprisoned the king, leaving Habba in deep sorrow. Her poetry, filled with longing and devotion, continues to echo through Kashmir's valleys, symbolizing timeless love and mysticism.

    Akhund Mullah Shah Mosque, is a 17th-century mosque built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The mosque is known for its blend of Mughal and Persian architectural styles, featuring intricate stonework and serene surroundings.   • Travelers are requested to pay the booking amount 120 days prior to arrival.
  • All bookings will be confirmed after the advance payment reflects in our bank account.
  • In case of a government-imposed lockdown, your booking amount is safe with us and can be used in the future.
  • We will not charge you as Tour operators for cancellations, but the Hotel Booking cancellations are subject to the Hotel Policies mentioned below:
  • Cancellation within 60 days of arrival is retained @ 100% with 0% refund.
  • Cancellation within 60-120 days of arrival is retained @ 50% with 50% refund.
  • Cancellation before 120 days of arrival is retained @ 0% with 100% refund.
  • In case the customer has to extend their stay due to any circumstances such as weather, lockdown or any other exigency as such, we will provide full assistance to facilitate the tour extension and the cost has to be borne by the customer on no-profit no-loss basis.
